Perverted By Language

Perverted by Language is a collection of short stories inspired by the songs of one of Manchester's most legendary and iconic bands – The Fall, published by Serpent's Tail and launched at Manchester International Festival.

The short stories, edited by Manchester-based writer Peter Wild, draw on well-known lyrics penned by the band's founder, Mark E. Smith, and are written by a crop of Britain's new and established writers. Twenty-three authors in all, including Stewart Lee, Andrew Holmes, John Williams and Rebecca Ray have taken the titles of songs by The Fall as the basis for their work in the Perverted by Language collection.

PlayStation took these disturbing and darkly funny tales and asked 3 sets of music artists and 3 teams of animators to offer their interpretations.
