Poetry Workshop
Acclaimed Manchester based beat poet – Ben Mellor – conducted a 4-hour master class in the construction and performance of modern verse. Attended by 6 budding scribes from diverse backgrounds, Ben tore up traditional conventions, encouraging his students to draw inspiration from diverse musical styles, tabloid headlines, movement and drama. This culminated with students performing their work, microphone in one hand – fresh verse in another. The students left the class enlightened and beaming with a confident new approach.
