Smokey Robinson

Last night I was lucky enough to spend the evening at a superb concert at Bridgewater Hall; Smokey Robinson!! His performance was astounding with fantastic vocals, dance moves, Motown stories and much more. Not only is Smokey a fantastic singing talent, but also an epic figure in soul music history, having written many hit songs for not only himself but other soloists and groups such as The Temptations.
After beginning with an array of his classic hits, he sang a few numbers from his new album, Timeless Love, including a fantastic arrangement of Night and Day. His band and accompanying string section were energetic, cool and as tight as one would expect from the band touring with the legend Smokey Robinson.
Not only was the music itself unforgettable, but the personality and presence of Smokey brought the Bridgewater Hall alive, with the entire audience engaging in a singing competition of the classic 'Cruisin'' as the finale to the evening. Everyone was up dancing, and I'm sure the few ladies on the front row that experienced Smokey's delectable charm will never forget this amazing concert!!
