Final Piece: Tempo Lapse
One of our first impressions of the festival was the different tempos and different audiences attending events in the city. We decided to try and capture these different atmospheres by having our film move from day to night shots. We also wanted to try and communicate the huge amounts of information and imagery we were exposed to over the five days. Our inspiration for this came from a VJ workshop we attended, which involved the layering of lots of video tracks. Vox poxes were used to document how the festival have inspired or provoked its audiences.
Musically, we wanted to mirror the different tempos we felt from around the festival and to draw on our aural experiences during the week. The first half of the music and sound design was intentionally sparse and open to reflect the calm of the day during the festival, whereas the second half of the piece was intended to give across the strong, established element of the city and to create the background for the fast paced, night shots.
